Basic studios in Phuket: what they look like and how much they cost.
A studio is an affordable option for buying property in Phuket, up to 30% cheaper than a one bedroom apartment. In March 2023, such housing can be purchased for a price of 1.3 million baht (37,500 dollars).
It will not come without flaws. Let’s make a list:
- leasehold (lease for 30 years with the right to renew for another 30 and 30)
- extremely small area (20 sq.m.)
- location not quite near the beach
An apartment with the better parameters will cost more and become a profitable investment.
A studio with a location near the beach or in the center of a popular area is easy to rent out. A studio is more affordable for rent than larger apartments, and even a couple of people can comfortably live in it for several days or even weeks.
An apartment from a developer with a well-deserved reputation is easier to resell it later.
What is a studio? This is a room without partitions between the areas of the bedroom, kitchen and living room. It has a maximum of three doors: entrance, bathroom and balcony.
Let's look at specific proposals.
Studio in Sky Park is 1 km to Bang Tao beach, 29 sq.m. with everything you need and access to an enviable infrastructure:

- treadmills
- Designed public places for recreation
- Infinity pool with jacuzzi area
And that's all for 4.5 million baht.
Relife: A 32 sqm studio designed in an understated minimalist style with polished concrete walls and lacquered wood decor. A short walking distance to Nai Harn beach and a small number of apartments in the building make the offer attractive. Cost: 3.850.000 baht.
Studio next to Naithon Beach: same 32 sq.m., cozy balcony, modern kitchen and a view of lush mountain greenery. It’s 150 meters to the sea shore, to the airport - 8 kilometers. It would be an excellent offer for daily rent. Price - 3.6 million baht.
30 sq.m. studio next to Kata beach. Everything you need for comfortable life and rest, a mountain view, a place in the center of the most popular area. The price is modest: 3.150.000 baht for a freehold unit.
In the same Kata area, a studio of 66 sq.m. is for sale for 2.7 million baht. The thing is the leasehold period is 15 years. On the other hand, there are some advantages: 500 meters from the sea, an equipped apartment with a kitchen, a spacious living area and an ocean view + the probability of recouping investments in 3-5 years.
