Phuket Beaches

Phuket is called “The Pearl of Asia”, but if you have never been to the beautiful island, there is still a question for you why it deserved to be named “gem”. The point is that Phuket has an extensive choice of wonderful beaches with sandy shores. They extend from the north to the south, as well as from the east to the west. Let’s have a look at each of them, and we will start from the northern coast of Phuket.

Mai Khao Beach

It is located in the north of Phuket near the international airport; you may have heard it is considered the longest beach of the island. Every Phuket guidance contains this data, and it’s not by chance, because it’s almost 11 km of extremely white sand and purest water. Moreover, it’s hard to meet a single person here, so you can enjoy being along at one with pristine nature.

Sai Kaew Beach

Some people mistakenly believe that Mai Khao beach is the northernmost beach in Phuket. Actually there is one more endless amazing beach that is the border between Phuket and the mainland. It’s the example of the spot where you will not find crowds of tourists and it’s suitable for those who prefers tranquility serenity.

Here we go, and our next stop is the eastern coast of Phuket.

Ao Po, Koh Sirey, Cape Panwa, Chalong are situated at this side. They are magnificent, calm and quiet. But this coast is not suitable for swimming. There are many rocks and low tides are strongly marked. However, many island fans adore this part because it’s a corner of real thai life with its habits and customs, pacification and enigmas.

It’s a quite different situation in the western shore.

Nai Torn, Nai Yang, Layan, Bangtao, Surin, Kamala and Kalim avoke the scene of integrity and virginity. Although they are more developed than the eastern beaches. There are many restaurants, cafes, local markets here, they are an ideal choice for family hoidays.

Tri Trang Beach, Patong, Karon, Kata, Kata Noi are appropriate for groups of friends and for people who look for active leisure and bright night life.

Our last halt is the southern littoral.

Nai Harn, Ya Nui and Rawai are the home of splendid viewpoints, fine seafood restaurants, ancient and popular sea gypsies and expats.

Of course, this list is not definite and there is much more additional information about each of the beaches. It was just a brief overview in a couple of words.
